When you come to our practice, you will experience compassionate care where we take the time to understand what's really going on. We explore the deeper causes of your symptoms and the why behind them, allowing us to create a treatment plan tailored specifically to you to help you achieve long-term relief.
We read the full story that your body is telling us to get a better understanding of your total health. Beginning with a comprehensive exam, we assess your joints, muscles, and function, and perform an airway screening. For most patients, we perform a CBCT for clear imaging. In some cases, an MRI may be needed for a deeper understanding.

As we get to know your story, your needs, and your goals, we may recommend other treatments or therapies. We offer appliance therapy, therapeutic injections, regenerative injections, photobiomodulation, frenectomies, and sleep evaluations. We only suggest what is best for your specific situation.
Collaboration is key. We work with many other specialties to ensure your total wellness. Orthodontists, neurologists, sleep specialists, otolaryngologists, psychologists, radiologists, nutritionists, orofacial myologists/myofunctional therapists, chiropractors, MNRI therapists, and physical therapists are some of the specialists who help us bring you into optimal health.

We treat you based on your personal needs, not your insurance plan. With a focus on time with our patients, treatment outcomes, and serving those who need specialty care, we believe in comprehensive care without restrictions.
If you do have medical benefits, we are more than happy to provide you with a detailed walkout statement to submit to insurance, but we do require full payment for services rendered at the time of treatment. You can manage statements and payments easily with Healow Pay.
“actually changed my life”
I absolutely love Minnesota Craniofacial. They actually changed my life. For 19 years I had extreme swelling and pain where I was unable to eat without having to take brakes which was caused by my tmj. I saw a difference after about 3-6 months and the most difference after the year mark. The staff there are so kind and helpful.
Temporomandibular dysfunction and orofacial pain are considered medical conditions, and related claims are typically filed with medical insurance. Many insurance companies do not cover non-surgical TMJ treatments or orthotic appliances.
Obstructive sleep apnea is a medical condition that can be treated with a dental sleep appliance. Coverage for this is subject to your medical deductible. Once met, the insurance may cover additional costs.
We are not contracted with medical or dental insurance companies, and coverage is between you and your insurance plan. However, we can provide you with a detailed walkout statement with diagnostic and procedure codes completed at each visit. Our team is here to guide you through the process, ensuring you have the documentation and support you need.
Contracting with insurance companies limits the care we can provide, as many plans exclude TMJ/pain treatment and restrict access to dental appliances for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and other sleep breathing issues. Our approach ensures that your care is comprehensive and guided by your individual needs, not by insurance company constraints.
We have successfully treated many thousands of patients with TMJ, orofacial pain, and sleep breathing disorders. We strive to address root causes to provide long term relief of your concerns. Our fee-for-service model ensures that your care is driven by clinical expertise, not insurance limitations.
What Does In-network vs Out-of-network Mean?
In-network: A healthcare provider that has signed a contract with an insurance company and agreed to a set fee for covered services. The insurance company, not the provider, also determines which services are covered, and this is always subject to change
Out-of-network: A healthcare provider without a contract. Benefits may still be available, but these are determined once a claim is reviewed.
We offer flexible payment options tailored to your needs. These include financing optinos through Cherry and CareCredit as well as in-house payment plans.
We do not require referrals. If you have another insurance plan, call your insurance company’s information line and ask if you need a referral. Please contact our office if have any other questions regarding insurance.
